You can operate the wearable’s touchscreen or control buttons, and it boasts a 1.3-in (33 mm) AMOLED display with a tough sapphire glass screen. Apple Watch helps find rare cancer and saves a 12-year-old’s-life.
Apple’s technological innovations have saved lives numerous times. This time, a little girl’s family has given thanks to the heart-monitoring capabilities of the Apple Watch for saving her life by enabling her to find cancer, which is uncommon in youngsters. The heart rate notifications function on Apple Watch is compatible with the Watch SE, Watch 7, as well as the recently released Watch 8 and Watch Ultra.
Imani Miles, a 12-year-old girl who recently received a new Apple Watch, started receiving notifications concerning her atypically high heart rates. Imani and her mother Jessica Kitchen initially believed the watch was acting strangely due to a fault or a calibration issue. The alarms continued even after the watch was updated with the most recent firmware and software and had its calibration checked.
After receiving repeated warnings, Kitchen made the decision to take her daughter to the hospital. Imani needed surgery there to treat her appendicitis. A tumor in her appendix was discovered there, which, according to the physicians, is “rarely seen in infants.” Further testing revealed that Imani’s cancer had already spread to other areas of her body. Imani then required another surgery to remove the malignant tumor.
